Neil Diamond may be a global music legend, but his four children — Marjorie, Elen, Jesse, and Micah — grew up largely outside the glare of fame, each forging a life uniquely their own.

Marjorie Diamond, Neil’s eldest, was born in 1965 and, at just 10 years old, unknowingly inspired one of her father’s signature songs. During a rare evening together in a New York hotel, she looked out at a parade and exclaimed, “Daddy, what a beautiful noise.” That phrase sparked Neil to write “Beautiful Noise” that very night. Marjorie later married, had children, and now lives quietly in New York City, far removed from the music world.

Elen Diamond, born in 1968, shared her sister’s East Coast upbringing. She turned her focus to philanthropy, founding the Children Who Never Forget Foundation to help abuse survivors — a cause her father championed alongside her. Married to film producer Mitchell Resnick and a mother to daughter Avery, Elen keeps her life deeply private, stepping into the public eye only for charity work.

Jesse Diamond, Neil’s first son, was born in 1970 and spent part of his youth on tour with his dad — sometimes even behind the drum kit at age six so Neil could keep an eye on him. Though musically talented, Jesse’s true calling became photography. His award-winning work has been shown in galleries worldwide. He’s a father to Elijah, Neil’s first grandson, and today enjoys a happy marriage to his longtime friend, Alana Bellsburg.

Micah Diamond, the youngest, arrived in 1978 on Valentine’s Day. Like his brother, he pursued photography and creative design, eventually co-founding a digital photography platform with Jesse. In 2020, Neil asked Micah to document the recording of Classic Diamonds at Abbey Road Studios — a project that became a deeply emotional father-son collaboration. Now in his mid-40s and married to Emily, Micah continues his creative work away from the public eye.

Though none of Neil Diamond’s children became performers, their lives reflect the values he worked hard to instill — creativity, privacy, and above all, family. And while the world knows Neil for his timeless songs, he knows his greatest legacy lives in the lives and hearts of his kids.
